Live Streaming Cricket: India vs Australia: PC, Mobile

The Australian team is already in India, and already facing some uncomfortable time in their practice game against the Indian Board President's XI. As I write this at the end of Day 2, Australia are over 250 runs behind with 4 top wickets including Hayden and Ponting already back in the pavilion. I was catching the cricket action live on TV - Neo Sports. Besides India, NeoSports may be reachable upto the Middle-East (UAE, Dubai, Sharjah) .Hope you too are in a place where you can watch the India - Australia series live on TV. In many a countries you can watch the four India-Australia tests live on Sky Sports. For cricket fans in the US, the channel to watch out for is Zee Sports America. In Malaysia and Singapore, the cable TV operators Star Hub arrange for you to watch Neo Sports. However if you are not fortunate enough to be able to watch it live on TV, read on - about how you can watch live streaming cricket through the internet on your PC or may be even live cricket on your mobile.

Firs the bad news - Willow.tv is amongst the better options to watch live streaming cricket on the internet but they don't seem to be covering the India-Australia 2008 series.

Action8Cricket is another website you can check out for live stuff.

One new website I ran into - Imvite - provides you with an option of watching hundreds of Indian channels live on your computer. I saw ESPN-Star amongst the options but you may check out for other cricket channels. On Tariksworld Dot Com, you can download a Sopcast player and a TVU Player. There is a clear mention of the India-Australia series Live Streaming Facility.

You may also check out Indiapad, Desikotha or Daruchini for more info on live streaming cricket for the india vs australia 2008 series.

A lot of these places aren't legal and look pretty dicey. I don't know why the ICC or the BCCI don't make an official arrangement for live webcast of cricket on the internet - there was something during the IPL T20 but since then, I don't know.

A couple of times I have been stuck in places where it was not possible to watch live cricket matches on TV and so i know how it can feel. I haven't provided a direct link to any of these sites as I can myself not be too sure about any one of them but this should be handy references for you to start searching for more. You may have to do lot of searching on the internet - click on lots of different ads and search more before you find the right place. Good Luck!

Live Cricket Streaming: Pakistan vs South Africa

The South Africa cricket tour to Pakistan begins with the 1s Test at Karachi starting 1st October 2007. The tour comprises 2 Test matches and 5 one-day internationals. For my blog readers residing in United States, UK, Singapore, Malaysia, Dubai, Kuwait, UAE, Sharjah and other places where live telecast of the cricket matches is not available or if they can see it live on TV, the pay-per-view costs are prohibitive, here is some information on how they can wthe Pakistan-South Africa series live streaming on their computers.
Willow.TV is providing the Pak-SA series - this is a paid series and may not be available in all geographical locations. You can pay through Visa, Masters and Amex credit cards - for more details, check out their website.
I came across this blog called Banglamedia.blogspot - the blog claims to be providing free sopcast/live streaming links. Doesn't look to be a very promising place - but when it's for free, you can always check it out.
Besides this, you can also refer to some other cricket webcasting sites in my previous posts on the same topic.

Live Streaming Cricket / Highlights: India vs Australia

Chinnaswami Stadium in Bangalore. Action begins at 2:30 pm India Time (8:00 pm GMT). In India you can catch live cricket action on Neo Sports, but there are a number of cricket fans stationed across the world who are hampered by lack of live telecast on TV or due to the huge rates charged by TV Channels on the pay-per-view basis. So here’s a lowdown on places on the nets where you can catch live cricket streaming. I’ve tried to give a summary of the websites, packages and associated features (including live cricket streaming sopcasts).

1. Willow.TV: You can catch the live cricket webcasts here through the Dish Network and Nimbus Sports. Features available: Live Streaming, On Demand Replays and Highlights of the India-Australia matches, Interactive Highlights and Mobile Commentary.

The site is also providing live streaming facility for the Sri Lanka – England Series. Plus English and Lanka fans get to avail of the benefits of on-demand highlights, on-demand replays, interactive highlights and mobile commentary.

South Africa begins its tour to Pakistan on Oct 1 with the first test at Karachi. The South Africa-Pakistan series comprises 2 tests and 5 one-dayers. This series is also available live at Willow.

For more details and package rates, check with their website.

2. Action8Cricket through LiveSportsOnline.Info is claiming :
Environment / Easy user Pannel
1. Best Service

2. 1Tb LAN Card Streaming.

3. Easy to Use member Area.

4. Live Media Player Streaming.

Features available: Live Cricket Scores, Audio Streaming and Live Streaming Video

Now while Willow might be the best option, it is not available in all countries ( available in North America and UK for sure but I am not sure if you can catch live streaming cricket on Willow if you are in Singapore, Malaysia, Dubai, Kuwait and quite a few other places with large Indian populations who may be keen to watch their team live.)

You can also check out IndianPad ( I couldn’t understand the site one bit but you can check out if you are really desperate), DesiKotha and DaruChini.

Most of the better sites are regular now. So for more details on sites for watching the India-Australia series live or the Pakistan-South Africa one, you can check out the previous 2 posts I had done on the same topic.

Watch Live Streaming Cricket - Twenty20 World Cup

live streaming cricket
While you can also use the previous post on Live Streaming Cricket which I had put up during the previous India-England ODI series, here is an update on sites where you can watch live streaming videos of the Twenty20 World Cup which starts with the South-Africa West Indies match at Johannesburg on September 11th 2007.

Before we go into the discussion on sites where you can watch live cricket, let me give you the caution:

With the ICC not sanctioning any official sites for live webcasting of cricket matches, this is largely an unorganized sector. Some of them may be ‘illegal’ and please be careful while paying for the sites. Do some cross-checking if possible. Also please see if you won’t get into legal trouble depending on your country of residence.

The Desikotha Network: This appears to be a Bangladesh site with the byline “Voice of the Bangladesh People”. So those of you who understand Hindi please don’t get ideas because of the word ‘kotha’ in the name. Kotha in Bangla simply means a ‘tale’ or ‘story’.

This guys claim to have beamed the ODI World Cup action live here and are planning to repeat it for the Twenty20 World Cup. The plan here is to have 2 sopcast channels for the cricket action – one sopcast for the low bandwith users and the other a high quality sopcast.

Is it paid? Yes and no. If you want it for free you will have to actively participate in their forums, else you can pay and watch.

Package Charges: 12 $ / 24 $ for the entire duration (26 games)

Willow.TV : They are currently obsessed with the India-England series and there is absolutely no mention of the Twenty20 Cup. But this is one place you should check out before anything else. Of all the places I checked this one is the one which looked ‘non-shoddy’. WillowTV also provides features on-demand cricket highlights and on-demand replays.

Daru Chini: Another place where I could see words like ‘cricket sopcast’ and ‘live cricket’. Nothing concrete but you could check it out. Especially if you are in an area where you don’t get WillowTV

Action8Cricket: Figure it out for yourself, but as you can see it is a dedicated cricket site.

For highlights of Twenty20 World Cup matches (and video recordings) please check with the same sites listed here and on the main live streaming cricket post.

This article is just meant to be a guide to cricket fans who live in US, Canada or other places where they are not able to watch cricket live on their TV. Live Streaming Cricket - One more place

I forgot to mention in the previous post on Live Streaming Cricket one really good place - BBC. While their streaming live audio coverage of cricket is available to audience across the world, the video streaming is available to UK broadband users. Enjoy.
India's further schedule in England:
India vs England Lions at Northampton, August 18 2007, Start Time GMT 0945
India vs England ODIs: Look for the schedule on the blog's the right panel
(for live streaming links, see main post - link given above)

Live Streaming Cricket Sites: India-England One Days & Twenty20 World Cup)

Ever since the India-England series started, I have been receiving quite a few e-mails from readers asking for quality sites which will webcast Live Streaming Cricket action from the India vs England series and also for the coming Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa. These are cricket fans living outside of the major cricket nations - mainly Indians, Pakistani and Bangladeshi cricket fans living in the United States; as they don't get live TV telecast of the cricket matches in their cities. While I had always provided a link to few sites webcasting live cricket action or providing live streaming action, I thought it would benefit a lot of cricket fans if a post could be done on "Live Cricket Streaming Web Sites".
I did a fair bit of research on the net, googling google with various keyword including "live cricket streaming", "live streaming cricket", "live streaming cricket sites", "links to live cricket videos", "live streaming India-England cricket", "live streaming Twenty20 Twenty World Cup" and god knows many more such permutations and combinations. Though I have come up with a number of results for you, but the bad news is that I didn't come up with any one site that I could genuinely recommend for live cricket webcasts. These sites are all unorganised, of shoddy quality and I guess also illegal or if not illegal, at least unauthorised. However, if you are not getting your favourite game of cricket live on TV, legalities can be damned with for a while, can't it? Willow.TV is the one exception to the rule, however this site is not accessible from all geographical locations. So here goes:
1. Willow.TV
Well the tagline on the site is very clear on one thing: "The Leader in Live Cricket Video
Streaming". Among the current 'live cricket' on offer are 'India in England', 'India vs Pakistan
in Scotland' , 'Bangladesh tour of Sri Lanka', and 'West Indies tour of England'. Now, some of
these tours are well and over, and I hope for the fans that Willow.TV will give you the live
streams from the Twenty20 World Cup, because these guys look the best, and more
importantly, the others don't look good at all.
2. Action8Cricket.com
India - England 7 One-Day Package for 14.95 $
Twenty20 World Cup Package not yet announced, but i guess you can expect it here.
Review at "Richie's Blogs": "The quality ain't as good as Willow TV and after installation I
got a couple of annoying ads, but generally I am pretty happy."
The blog also recommends that for best live streaming quality, opt for Exploerer over Firefox.
3. ESPNStar.com
While this site doesn't give you streaming live cricket, it gives you good quality flash
animation of the live cricket action. More importantly, this is at least a quality and legal
source for viewing cricket.
4. LiveSportsOn.TV
Interesting and apt usage of the domain extension .TV, ain't it? Well, you will have to shell out
8.62 $ for each day of live action from the India-England series (test as well as ODIs) and
funnily enough to catch the live streaming action from the likely less engrossing India-
Scotland one-day in Glasgow on the 16th August, you need to pay almost twice that. But there
is more interesting pricing coming up: the Twenty20 World Cup action is the cheapest. Catch
live streams of cricket from South Africa on your desktop for just under 4 $ per day. That one
sounds like a good deal, what say?

5. ApnaITV.com
How much they care for accuracy and quality I could gauge from the 8 India-England ODI
package they are selling. I am assuming it's a live streaming package for the 7 India-England
one-dayers and the one between India and Scotland. This bouquet of "Live Cricket for 8
ODIs" comes for 25.98 $.
The one good thing about the ApnaITV guys was that they bothered with telling the benefits
or features of their 'live video streaming' packages. Noteworthy among the features were: 'TV
like quality at 600 kbps', 'view at full screen', ( if they had instead written 'view on small
screen' I would have surely promoted them to no.4!), 'connect to tv simply with s-video',
'no extra hardware or software required' et al.
Now there are quite a few other websites that claim to provide 'live cricket streaming videos' - some paid, some free and yet others who ask for donations only. Here are a few more that you may check out:
6. DaruChini.Com
The Bangladesh-Sri Lanka series was being webcasted live by Daru Chini, so you may like to check this site out again, though they currently make no mention of the Twenty20 World Cup or any other 'live-streaming cricket' action for that matter.
7. Watch-Live-Cricket.com
This webcaster also claims it will give you streaming live action from the Twenty20 Cricket action as well as the current India-England series.
8. Live-TV-Net.com
9. TVandSportsStreams.com
10. Last but not the least should you feel like recording the live streaming cricket videos that you are getting on your desktop, check out WMRecorder.Com
Lots of Warnings:
a) This blog is in no way connected to any of these sites, nor has it been sponsored by any one or more of them. This is just a compilation of websites which provide 'live streaming cricket' action and you are advised to check out the veracity of the claims these sites make on your own before your proceed to purchase any package they are selling.
b) I have tried my best to be as accurate while mentioning the prices and the URLs, should there be any mistake, we shall not be held responsible for it.
